Peer Support
For All
5WAVES hosts a support community on the Discord platform. There are channels for survivors, parents, and friends of survivors (partners, other family members, grandparents, friends--anyone who wants to learn more and help). This is a private group. To protect everyone's safety, we screen all who join.

If you are interested in joining, please email info@5waves.org, with DISCORD in the subject line, and answer these two questions:
1. What is your connection to sibling sexual trauma (SST) / sibling sexual abuse (SSA) (e.g., survivor, parent, supporter/friend, etc.)?
2. In a sentence or two, why do you want to join this peer support community?
For Survivors
Empower Survivors hosts a Facebook group exclusively for victims, survivors, thrivers of sibling sexual abuse and trauma. 5WAVES survivors are participants. With over 800 members, the group is active. You are not alone!
For Parents
There are some online support groups for parents of sexually abused children and for survivors of child sexual abuse. Until March '21, there were no support groups exclusively for parents coping with SST. The complexities of being a parent of both a child victim and the child who harmed are unmatched. Hope Sittler, 5WAVES co-founder, created and moderates a private Facebook group for parents in this exact situation. There are 800+ members in the group and the numbers increase daily.
